American fencer Lee Kiefer once again demonstrated excellence at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Kiefer, already recognized as a legend in women’s foil, won the gold medal in team fencing, competing alongside Jackie Dubrovich, Lauren Scruggs, and May Tieu.

The competition took place at the Grand Palais, where the American team showcased unwavering determination and outstanding tactical skills, surpassing top contenders from Italy and France.

This victory was a historic achievement: Kiefer is now the most decorated athlete in women’s foil in U.S. history, adding another gold to her Olympic victories from Tokyo 2020.

Since her Olympic debut in London 2012, she has steadily advanced to success, winning in both individual and team events and solidifying her status as America’s strongest fencer.

Lee Kiefer grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, but was born in Cleveland, Ohio. Her parents are both medical professionals: her mother, Teresa, a psychiatrist, moved to the U.S. from the Philippines as a child, and her father, Steve, was a fencing team captain in college and now works as a neurosurgeon.

After graduating from high school, Kiefer attended the University of Notre Dame, where she joined the “Fighting Irish” fencing team and graduated in 2017. She is currently continuing her education at the University of Kentucky’s medical college.
