At the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, Ukrainian athlete Yaroslava Mahuchikh claimed gold in the high jump, setting a new world record.

At the “Sebastian Charléty” Stadium, she showcased incredible skill, defeating her competitors and breaking the long-standing record set by Bulgaria's Stefka Kostadinova in 1987 (2.09 meters).

The battle for gold was between Mahuchikh and Nicola Olyslagers from Australia, who also attempted a height of 2.03 meters but conceded after three unsuccessful tries.

Mahuchikh confidently continued her ascent, clearing 2.07 meters on her second attempt and finishing with a record-breaking height of 2.10 meters.

Olyslagers took silver, matching her result from Tokyo 2020. The bronze medals were shared by Australia’s Eleanor Patterson and Ukraine’s Iryna Herashchenko.

Yaroslava Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian high jumper, world record holder (2.10 m), and 2024 Olympic champion.

She also won the world championship title in 2023, is a two-time European champion (2022, 2024), and Ukrainian champion, holding the title of honored master of sports of Ukraine.
