Federica Pellegrini is the first woman to reach the finals in the 200-meter freestyle at eight consecutive World Championships (2005–2019).

Federica set world records in the 200 m and 400 m freestyle in 2009: her 200 m time (1:52.98) remains unbeaten, while her 400 m record (3:59.15) stood for several years.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, she became the first Italian woman to win a gold medal in swimming in the 200-meter freestyle.

Four years earlier, at the Athens Olympics, the 16-year-old athlete won silver in the same event, becoming the youngest Italian Olympic medalist.

Federica Pellegrini participated in the Italian show “Dancing with the Stars” (Ballando con le Stelle). Her performances on the show captured the public’s and media’s attention, showcasing her dancing skills and willingness to take on new challenges.

Federica was born on August 5, 1988, in the city of Mirano, Italy. From a young age, she demonstrated exceptional athletic abilities and began winning medals at international competitions as a teenager.

Federica retired in 2021, but her records and contributions to swimming remain unparalleled.
