Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in London, where he met with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, according to Anadolu Ajansı.

Before the talks, the leaders addressed journalists outside the residence on Downing Street, 10.

Starmer emphasized that the UK remains a reliable ally of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian people enjoy broad support in the country, as demonstrated by the reaction of the crowd gathered outside.

The Prime Minister assured that London will continue to assist Kyiv until a peace based on Ukraine's sovereignty and security is established.

In response, Zelensky expressed gratitude to the British people for their unwavering support.

During the visit, the Ukrainian president also plans to meet with King Charles III. Previously, he visited Washington, where he discussed the situation with Donald Trump.

Additionally, the UK will allocate £2.6 billion to strengthen Ukraine’s defense, as reported by Novyny.LIVE.

The agreement was signed on March 1 by UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves and Ukraine’s Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko during an online meeting.

The funding will come from frozen Russian assets. The decision was finalized following the meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London.

After the negotiations, Starmer personally saw Zelensky off. This loan will be part of the UK’s strategic support for Ukraine in its resistance against Russian aggression.

Earlier, it was reported that Zelensky called negotiations with the US difficult but significant, while Washington expects an apology, and Europe expresses support for Ukraine. This diplomatic crisis highlights tensions in international relations.

It was also revealed that starting in 2027, the UK will increase defense spending to 2.5% of GDP. According to the Prime Minister, this move aims to strengthen national security and counter emerging threats.
