Hollywood actor Jesse Eisenberg, known for his roles in *Now You See Me* and *The Social Network*, has officially become a Polish citizen.

This information was published by the Chancellery of the President of Poland on its official social media page on X.

The ceremony took place on March 4 at the Permanent Mission of Poland to the United Nations in New York. The documents were personally handed over to the actor by President Andrzej Duda.

Eisenberg received his Polish passport a year after submitting his application. He explained his decision by referring to his family roots—his ancestors lived in Krasnystaw, Poland, but emigrated to the United States during World War II.

“I feel connected to this country,” Eisenberg said. President Duda expressed pride in the actor’s choice and emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory.

Additionally, director and actor Jesse Eisenberg presented his film *A Real Pain*—a comedy-drama that premiered in January 2024 at the Sundance Film Festival.

The lead roles were played by Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. The film tells the story of two cousins who travel to Poland to fulfill their grandmother’s last wish.

Their journey turns into an exploration of Jewish heritage, the Holocaust, and family ties. The film received two Oscar nominations and earned Kieran Culkin an award for Best Supporting Actor.

The film was also recognized with BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
