U.S. President Donald Trump today signed an executive order to establish the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and the U.S. Digital Asset Fund. Information about this was published on the White House website.

This move aims to strengthen the financial stability of the United States and solidify its leadership in the field of digital assets.

The reserve will be formed from bitcoins seized by the U.S. Department of the Treasury during criminal and civil proceedings.

Other agencies must review their authority to potentially transfer confiscated bitcoins to this fund. These assets will not be sold but will serve as a strategic reserve for the United States.

At the same time, the U.S. Digital Asset Fund is being created, including all confiscated digital currencies except Bitcoin.

However, the government does not plan to purchase new assets but only to manage the ones already seized. Agencies are required to report their digital assets to the Treasury Department.

The Trump administration emphasizes that this decision will allow the U.S. to become a leader in the cryptocurrency sector, ensure transparency in digital asset management, and eliminate the chaotic practice of storing and selling confiscated cryptocurrencies.

Earlier, it was reported that the U.S. dollar fell to 105.46 points – its lowest level since December 2024 – amid Trump's trade threats, which raised investor concerns over potential new tariffs.

It was also revealed that Trump is imposing tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods, justifying the move as a measure against drug trafficking and a step toward national security, raising questions about the true motives behind the decision.
