On Saturday, March 9, Storm "Jana" raged across southern Spain, bringing strong winds and heavy rain to Seville, as reported by Estadio Deportivo.

The tornado, recorded in several towns in the province, including Alcalá del Río and La Algaba, caused particular concern.

The first distress signal was received by emergency services at around 12:30 PM.

Eyewitnesses reported a whirlwind sweeping through the Illipa industrial area in Alcalá del Río, tearing off warehouse roofs and damaging buildings.

Firefighters, police, and utility services quickly arrived at the scene. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Seville authorities urged residents to exercise caution, warning of the dangers of falling trees and unstable metal structures.

As the weather improved, the city's emergency plan was downgraded to normal mode, and parks were reopened to the public.

The most affected site was a pallet manufacturing company, where the wind tore off the roof and damaged load-bearing structures, according to Canal Sur.

Workers took shelter under a truck and were unharmed. The damage exceeds 200,000 euros. The insurance company does not cover natural disasters, so the owners are awaiting assistance from the consortium.

Earlier, it was reported that Los Angeles was hit by a natural disaster: torrential rains flooded streets, and mountain slopes turned into streams of mud and rocks. Floods and landslides worsened the aftermath of recent wildfires, complicating relief efforts.

It was also reported that a rare snowstorm paralyzed the southern United States, covering states with snow, ice, and strong winds. The disaster affected 31 million people, causing casualties and mass flight cancellations.
