Negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and the U.S. are set to begin in Saudi Arabia, with the key topics being a potential ceasefire in the Black Sea region and a strategic agreement on mineral extraction. Andriy Yermak announced this on his Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian delegation is led by the Head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, accompanied by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and military advisor Pavlo Palisa.
On the U.S. side, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz will attend the meeting.
The negotiations will begin on March 11 in Jeddah at 11:00 AM Kyiv time. According to sources from Associated Press, Kyiv will propose discussing a ceasefire in the Black Sea and halting long-range missile strikes to de-escalate the conflict.
Additionally, discussions will cover the possibility of signing an agreement on mineral resource development in Ukraine with American investments.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
During the meeting, they discussed ways to end the war, the release of prisoners, and the return of children.
Saudi Arabia supports diplomatic efforts and is ready to invest in Ukraine’s economy, particularly in security, energy, and infrastructure. The Ukrainian delegation will remain in Jeddah for negotiations with the U.S. today, hoping for concrete results.
