On Tuesday night, demonstrators blocked the offices of the state television channel RTS in Belgrade and Novi Sad, as reported by Bloomberg.
The protests, ongoing since November, are directed against President Aleksandar Vučić, whom the opposition accuses of corruption and poor governance.
When police attempted to unblock the entrance to the building in Belgrade, clashes broke out, resulting in an officer being injured. Elite security units were deployed to reinforce security.
President Vučić called the attack on the police officer proof of the protesters' violent intentions.
The discontent was triggered by the collapse of a canopy at a railway station in Novi Sad, which claimed the lives of 15 people. The opposition blames the authorities for negligence and demands the resignation of the government.
However, Vučić refused to step down and stated that he would not accept a transitional government.
Protests have spread across all major cities in Serbia. Demonstrators have vowed to continue their actions, with a large rally planned in Belgrade on Saturday.
Vučić warned that protesters might attempt to seize the parliament and other state institutions.
Earlier, it was reported that a brawl broke out in the Serbian parliament between the opposition and government representatives amid discussions about the Novi Sad tragedy, with Prime Minister Miloš Vučević at the center of the conflict.
It was also reported that the Romanian electoral commission denied pro-Russian candidate Călin Georgescu participation in the repeat presidential elections, sparking mass protests in Bucharest.
