TikTok has introduced updated parental control tools and new features for teenagers aimed at fostering healthy digital habits. This information was published on TikTok Newsroom.

Parents can now set time limits for app usage, blocking access during specific hours.

The new Time Away feature allows scheduling restrictions, for example, during study or sleep hours. Teenagers can request additional time, but the final decision remains with the parents.

Additionally, TikTok is introducing a "relaxation mode" after 10:00 PM. If a teenager under 16 uses the app at night, their feed will be interrupted by a full-screen reminder with calming music.

In the future, TikTok will add meditation exercises to these reminders.

Furthermore, parents will be able to see who their child follows and who follows them, as well as monitor blocked accounts. If a teenager reports a video that violates platform rules, they can notify their parents about it.

These innovations complement TikTok’s existing safety system, which includes automatic screen time limits for users under 18.

The company continues to enhance mechanisms for protecting teenagers by collaborating with digital safety experts.

Earlier, it was reported that TikTok released the Whee app, designed for sharing photos with close friends, which is already available on Android in several countries.

It was also revealed that the social network X is introducing mandatory age-restriction labels for content in communities to enhance platform safety.
