Angelina Jolie reached out to an injured girl from Ukraine and supported her dream

The American actress recorded a heartfelt message for 14-year-old Polina, who was injured in a strike on Izyum and is currently undergoing treatment in a Kyiv hospital.

Actress Angelina Jolie spoke with 14-year-old Polina from Izyum, who was among those injured during a shelling of the city, according to the platform United24.

The girl suffered severe injuries and is now being treated at the Ohmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv, where doctors are working to restore her mobility.

Polina shared that she dreams of walking again and meeting Jolie in person.

After learning her story, the United24 team arranged an online meeting with the actress. Jolie not only spoke with Polina but also sent her a heartfelt message of encouragement in a personal note.

Since 2001, Angelina Jolie has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNHCR. She has visited humanitarian crisis zones in Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Pakistan, Thailand, and other countries to meet refugees in person.

She published her observations in the form of travel diaries to raise awareness of refugee issues and support the work of the UN.

In 2023, on World Refugee Day, Angelina Jolie posted photos on Instagram showing the victims of war, including scenes from Ukraine.

She showed a girl from Bucha and residents of Mykolaiv region who suffered from flooding caused by the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

Jolie reminded the world about the more than 100 million refugees globally and called for compassion and respect toward them. She also shared images from Palestine, Syria, Bangladesh, and South Sudan.

Earlier, the actress visited Lviv, where she personally met with displaced Ukrainians.
