Senior advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Larijani, stated that Iran will be forced to develop nuclear weapons if attacked by the United States.

This statement was in response to comments made by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who promised “bombings” if no agreement is reached on Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran has long maintained that its nuclear program is purely peaceful and aimed at meeting energy needs. However, the U.S. and its allies suspect Iran of attempting to develop weapons of mass destruction.

According to Larijani, Western pressure could force Iranian authorities to shift their position under public demand.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei promised a "firm response" to any strikes, while Iran's UN ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani accused the U.S. and Israel of aggressive provocations.

In his letter to the UN Security Council, he warned that any attack would be met with a decisive response, and that the U.S. would bear full responsibility for the consequences.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to increase pressure, accusing Iran of supporting the Houthi rebels in Yemen. At the same time, he sent a letter offering dialogue, to which Iran responded through Oman’s mediation.

It should be noted that Iran’s nuclear program includes research centers, two uranium mines, a reactor, and three uranium enrichment facilities.

Despite claims of peaceful intentions, Iran is regularly accused of developing nuclear weapons. These accusations are based on suspicions that the technologies used at the facilities may have military applications.
