Russian army losses exceed 918,000: General Staff updates data as of April 2

Since the beginning of the invasion, Russia has lost over 918,000 troops and thousands of units of military equipment. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine released updated statistics as of April 2, 2025.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of April 2, 2025, Russia has suffered an estimated 918,180 personnel losses since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine — and this number continues to grow.

In the past 24 hours alone, according to the General Staff, this figure increased by 1,410.

In total, Russia has lost:

  • 10,515 tanks (+10 in the last 24 hours);
  • 21,880 armored fighting vehicles (+24);
  • 25,576 artillery systems (+24);
  • 1,347 multiple launch rocket systems;
  • 1,123 air defense systems;
  • 370 aircraft and 335 helicopters.

Notably, the number of operational-tactical UAVs destroyed has reached 31,505 — with 43 eliminated in the past day.

Additionally, 3,123 cruise missiles, 28 ships and boats, 1 submarine, 42,687 vehicles and fuel tankers (+41), and 3,787 units of special equipment have been destroyed.

The General Staff notes that the data is continuously updated as new information arrives from the frontlines.

Earlier, the AFU successfully targeted a border facility in Russia’s Bryansk region, destroying its infrastructure and eliminating up to forty Russian servicemen.
