On Saturday, April 5, Paris Saint-Germain claimed their fourth consecutive Ligue 1 title with a 1–0 away victory over Angers.
The only goal of the match came in the 55th minute, when 19-year-old winger Désiré Doué finished a cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from the left wing.
Before the break, PSG dominated possession and created numerous chances, but failed to convert them.
After the goal, Luis Enrique made a triple substitution, bringing on, among others, Ousmane Dembélé, the team’s top scorer. However, PSG couldn’t extend their lead.
With this win, the Parisians reached 74 points and became unreachable for Monaco, who can only achieve a maximum of 71 points in the best-case scenario.
This title allows PSG to focus on their upcoming Champions League quarter-final against Aston Villa.
As a reminder, Ligue 1 is France’s top professional football league, featuring 18 clubs. At the end of each season, the bottom two teams are relegated to Ligue 2, while the 16th-place team plays a promotion/relegation playoff. The competition is officially named "Ligue 1 McDonald’s" due to sponsorship from the American company.
