Kylian Mbappe has filed a lawsuit against his former club, Paris Saint-Germain, demanding the payment of €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses.
According to as.com, citing the striker’s legal team, a Paris court authorized the freezing of PSG’s accounts on Thursday. A hearing is scheduled for May 26.
Lawyer Delphine Verheyden stated that the one-year attempt to resolve the conflict peacefully had failed.
In addition to the lawsuit, according to The Guardian, Mbappé’s legal team is requesting the intervention of France’s sports minister and asking the French Football Federation (FFF) to inform UEFA about PSG’s violations, which could lead to the loss of their club license.
The conflict dates back to summer 2023, when Mbappe refused to extend his contract and was temporarily excluded from the main squad.
PSG claims that Mbappe voluntarily gave up part of his bonuses, but no evidence has been provided.
Additionally, Mbappe’s lawyers plan to file a complaint over harassment and discrimination the player experienced from the club and online.
