Conflict in Berlin metro ends in tragedy and police shooting
A fatal attack occurred in the Berlin metro: after an argument, a passerby was stabbed, and the attacker was shot in the neck while trying to assault the police.

On Sunday, a tragedy occurred at the Sophie-Charlotte-Platz metro station in Berlin. According to Berlin police, a man got into an argument with a stranger, followed him to the platform, and suddenly attacked him with a knife.
The victim died at the scene from the stab wound. Witnesses quickly described the attacker’s appearance, which allowed police to locate him promptly.
The suspect was found not far from the scene. According to Welt, during the attempted arrest, he threatened officers with a knife, prompting one officer to fire three shots.
One of the bullets struck the man in the neck. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The Berlin homicide unit is investigating the case. The motives behind the conflict remain unknown.
Earlier, it was reported that in the German town of Weitefeld, the bodies of three family members were discovered. Police are searching for a 61-year-old man named Alexander Meissner, who is suspected of involvement in the killings.
