Spain — Near the town of Jaca (province of Huesca), officers of the Spanish National Police intercepted a convoy transporting 400 kilograms of hashish, reported the Ministry of the Interior of Spain.
Five French citizens aged between 20 and 34 were arrested during the operation. They are suspected of belonging to a criminal organization, drug trafficking, and document forgery.
The convoy included two escort vehicles and a van with fake license plates, stolen in France.
The van’s driver rammed a police vehicle and fled into the forest. Three accomplices were arrested at the scene, while two others were detained on April 7 in Marbella.
The group used the “go fast” method: fast-moving convoys of multiple vehicles, making interception more difficult.
The investigation began in November 2024. The suspects frequently changed vehicles, routes, and countries. The operation is being carried out with support from the EU and Europol. The search for the driver is ongoing.
Earlier, it was reported that in Spain, as a result of 419 special operations conducted over the past year by police and the Civil Guard, 1,794 victims of human trafficking were rescued, including 32 children. The victims were freed from conditions of sexual and labor exploitation.
