USA — On Friday, around noon local time, a shooting occurred at the Student Union of Florida State University (FSU) in Tallahassee.

Eyewitnesses reported panic and a large police presence arriving urgently at the scene. According to the police, one individual has been taken into custody. At least four people were confirmed injured and transported to Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, where they are receiving medical care.

The university administration immediately issued an alert advising people to shelter in place, noting that police were either on site or en route. Students and staff were urged to stay away from windows and doors. All classes and events on campus have been canceled through the weekend.

The FBI is working on-site along with local and federal agencies. President Donald Trump described the incident as a “horrible tragedy” and promised to provide more details later.

Earlier the same day in the state of Utah, an explosion occurred at a Northrop Grumman facility, a company specializing in military development. The building was completely destroyed, but no casualties were reported.
