The memorandum was signed within the framework of intergovernmental negotiations coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers.
MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak wrote in his Telegram channel that Ukraine and the U.S. signed a memorandum of intent confirming both sides’ readiness to finalize an economic partnership agreement and create a Recovery Investment Fund.
The document was prepared following technical consultations held in Washington on April 11–12.
It is expected that from April 21, the Ukrainian delegation, led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, will hold final talks with U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo during the IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings.
The sides agreed to report on progress by April 26 to enable a prompt signing of the agreement. The U.S. emphasized that the future deal will not interfere with Ukraine’s commitments to the EU and international creditors.
