Canadian conservative leader pledges $22 billion in frozen Russian assets to Ukraine
Pierre Poilievre stated that his government would transfer $22 billion in Russian assets to Ukraine to support the war effort and rebuild infrastructure.

Canada. Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada Pierre Poilievre has pledged to transfer $22 billion in frozen Russian assets to Ukraine if his party wins the parliamentary elections on April 28.
This was stated in an announcement on the party's official website published on Friday.
According to him, the funds will be directed to support Ukraine’s resistance against Russian aggression and to rebuild war-damaged infrastructure.
Poilievre reminded that it was the Conservatives who introduced the Magnitsky Act in Canada, which made it possible to freeze the assets of Russian oligarchs following the annexation of Crimea.
He also criticized the current Liberal government for its delay in transferring the funds. The politician emphasized that his party has consistently supported Ukraine and will continue to do so.
He expressed confidence that Canada will not retreat from its position.
Earlier, it was reported that during a trip to Vancouver, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney visited the Ukrainian restaurant "Kozak", expressing solidarity with the Ukrainian community and highlighting the important role of local businesses in the city's development.
