International logistics company DHL has announced a temporary suspension of B2C shipments to the US valued over $800.

This was reported by global e-commerce expert Dayu Yang on his page.

The restriction applies to all destinations, not just packages from China, and is not directly related to the possible repeal of the de minimis threshold planned for May 2.

According to Yang, the reason is the lack of sufficient resources at customs to handle the updated procedures. This decision highlights a general capacity shortage in the US import system, which may worsen after potential legislative changes.

The expert suggests that the expected pressure might force the Trump administration to soften the impact of the reform, but making business decisions based on this assumption is still premature.

Earlier, it was reported that in response to the US tariff increase on Chinese goods up to 84%, Beijing introduced retaliatory tariffs on American products, escalating the trade confrontation between the countries.
