Donald Trump, President of the United States, announced on Truth Social his decision to nominate Mike Waltz as the U.S. Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
According to Trump, Waltz — who has served in the military, Congress, and as his national security advisor — "has always put the nation’s interests first."
Until Waltz is confirmed by the Senate, Secretary of State Marco Rubio will temporarily take on the responsibilities of National Security Advisor while continuing to lead the State Department.
Trump stated that both appointments will help strengthen security and protect U.S. interests.
Earlier, Donald Trump criticized Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell for delaying a decision on interest rates and demanded his immediate resignation.
Trump also showcased the newly redecorated Oval Office, designed with respect for America’s historical legacy — with a portrait of Reagan taking center stage, reflecting the former president’s values and preferences.
