The British street artist Banksy, known for his secret identity and provocative works, has posted a photo of a new graffiti piece on Instagram.
It depicts a lighthouse with the inscription: “I want to be the one you saw in me.” The key element is a visual trick: a real street pole casts a shadow that aligns perfectly with the image, making it look like the lighthouse is its reflection.
This is his first new work in a long time, and, as usual, Banksy did not disclose its exact location. Users are trying to guess based on details in the photo — many believe it's somewhere in Marseille, southern France. The artist himself remains silent.
Banksy traditionally keeps his identity a secret. His work is always surrounded by speculation, rumors, and a hunt for locations, which is exactly what makes each new piece an event.
Earlier it was reported that a portrait of a woman painted by Van Gogh in 1884 was sold at the Tefaf art fair — the buyer paid over 4.5 million euros for the work.
