On Saturday, June 14, a symbolic confrontation will unfold in the United States. While Donald Trump plans to hold a military parade with tanks and a televised march in Washington, the NO KINGS movement is calling Americans to the streets in other cities.
The main event will take place in Philadelphia — where a mass rally will be held against "strongman rule" and performative nationalism.
Organizers call Trump’s parade an "expensive, empty spectacle" and claim that real power lies in people’s movements, not armored vehicles.
They are intentionally avoiding the capital — instead focusing on local initiatives in Virginia and Maryland, and cooperating with the Free D.C. community, which will host a "Day of Joy" in the District of Columbia.
The goal of the action is to show that America does not need kings, personality cults, or militaristic pomp. Instead — solidarity, honesty, and active civic participation.
Earlier it was reported that about 700 Marines were deployed to Los Angeles to guard federal facilities, despite sharp objections from Governor Gavin Newsom. The state of California considers such actions an infringement on its authority and demands the immediate return of control over the situation.
It also became known that Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the National Guard onto the streets ahead of large-scale protests against Trump’s immigration policy. Authorities stated they are prepared to crack down harshly on any unrest.
