Former Los Angeles Police Department detective Moises Castillo, who served during the 1992 Rodney King riots, accused Mayor Karen Bass of a delayed response amid the new wave of unrest in the city. This was reported by Amoledo, citing the New York Post.

Protests against immigration policy escalated into mass riots marked by arson, looting, and attacks on police officers.

According to Police Chief Jim McDonnell, 197 people were arrested on Monday alone, including a suspect charged with attempted murder using a Molotov cocktail.

President Trump deployed the National Guard to the city despite opposition from Governor Gavin Newsom.

On Monday, the U.S. Northern Command announced the deployment of 700 Marines to protect federal facilities.

Castillo believes the authorities are using the situation to trade blame instead of urgently working together.

It’s worth noting that on June 14, Donald Trump’s birthday and Flag Day, a protest march will be held in Philadelphia organized by the NO KINGS movement. The event is a response to Washington’s “show of force” and an expression of opposition to authoritarianism and personality cults.
