The destruction of Iran's air defense systems and elimination of IRGC generals opened the way for Israel to carry out unrestricted airstrikes up to the capital of the Islamic Republic.

Israel. Israeli military officials have announced a dramatic shift in the strategic balance in the Middle East following a series of airstrikes on Iranian targets.

According to The Jerusalem Post, citing security officials, most of Iran’s air defense systems were disabled, allowing the Israeli Air Force to operate nearly unhindered up to Tehran.

On the morning of June 14, Chief of the Israeli General Staff General Herzi Halevi stated that “the road to Tehran is open.” He held a meeting with Israeli Air Force Commander Tomer Bar and IDF Arabic-language spokesperson Avichay Adraee, where further steps and operational plans were discussed.

Earlier, Israeli aircraft launched a precision strike on an underground command center of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), where the leadership of Iran's air forces was located at the time of the attack.

General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, his deputies, and the heads of drone and aviation units were eliminated.

According to the IDF, these officers were responsible for the April attack on Israel, as well as for strikes on Saudi Arabia’s infrastructure in 2019.

In addition, strikes were carried out on military targets in Syria, including Hezbollah positions, expanding the operational corridor for Israeli air operations. Defense sources report that Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz and Isfahan were temporarily disabled as a result of the strikes, dealing a significant blow to the country’s nuclear program.

As a reminder, over 200 Israeli fighter jets attacked more than 100 military targets in Iran on the night of June 13. Three high-ranking Iranian generals, including the Chief of Staff, were killed. Israel stated that the operation was a response to threats and Iran's support of terrorism.
