Israeli forces eliminated senior Iranian general Ali Shadmani during a precision strike in the heart of Tehran.
This was announced by IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin. According to him, the strike was made possible thanks to accurate intelligence data.
Shadmani had headed the Iranian army’s General Staff for only four days, replacing General Gholam Ali Rashid, who was also killed at the start of the operation.
Both were considered key figures in the inner circle of Iran’s Supreme Leader.
The IDF continues strikes on Iranian military targets: missile launchers, UAV warehouses, and arsenals have been destroyed. One of the drones spotted a crew preparing to launch missiles and took them out with an airstrike.
Meanwhile, around 30 rockets were launched at Israel overnight. Most were intercepted, but some made impact. The IDF urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts.
Earlier, it was reported that Israeli air forces struck a building in central Tehran, killing four senior Iranian intelligence officers, including the head of the IRGC’s intelligence service. It was one of the most damaging blows to Iranian command in recent times.
It was also revealed that the Israeli army disabled about a third of Iran’s missile launchers in a single night, preventing potential strikes. The air force carried out massive strikes on dozens of launch sites, disrupting preparations for new attacks.
