During the night of June 17 and throughout the day, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out a series of massive strikes on targets in western Iran.
According to a statement from the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), the operation targeted surface-to-surface missile launchers, as well as air defense positions and radar stations integrated into local infrastructure.
According to the Israeli side, dozens of targets were hit with precision. The sorties and strikes were prepared based on pre-obtained intelligence. The goal is to thwart potential attacks on Israeli territory and neutralize threats to the civilian population.
IAF aircraft continue to patrol and conduct reconnaissance in Iranian airspace.
According to the military, the operation is not yet over — missile launchers that may be used against Israel remain in their sights.
It was also reported that G7 leaders took a strong position on the Middle East escalation. They reaffirmed Israel's right to self-defense, blamed Iran for destabilizing the region, and called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
