In honor of Paul McCartney’s birthday — he turned 83 on June 18 — three sons of members of the legendary band The Beatles came together to record a joint song.

The track, titled Rip Off, was created by Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr), Sean Ono Lennon (son of John Lennon), and James McCartney (son of the birthday honoree).

The union of the descendants of the iconic Liverpool foursome was a true gift for fans. The song hasn’t been released on streaming platforms yet, but a snippet was posted by Zak on Instagram on June 15.

He noted that this isn’t a “new Beatles,” but rather a blend of his band Mantra of the Cosmos and the spirit of their fathers.

The only one who didn’t participate was Dhani Harrison — son of George Harrison.

Incidentally, this isn’t the first collaboration between Sean and James — they previously released the track Primrose Hill.

All four heirs continue the musical legacy of their fathers. Zak plays in The Who, Dhani records solo albums, James has collaborated with Paul, and Sean produces other artists.
