Overnight, the Israeli Air Force carried out precision strikes on the Iranian capital. The targets were headquarters and facilities of the internal security forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
As reported by the IDF press center, the operation was based on intelligence collected by Israel’s Military Intelligence Directorate.
The "Basij" headquarters came under fire — one of the regime’s key power structures, responsible for enforcing Islamic norms and informing on dissenters.
In addition, facilities of the "Alborz" corps — responsible for security in several cities in Tehran Province — as well as intelligence and regime police units were struck.
The IDF notes that the strike weakened Iran's ability to control the population and inflicted serious damage to the regime's military potential. Official Tehran has not yet commented on the strikes.
Earlier, it was reported that the US launched surprise strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities after several days of tense silence. Donald Trump confirmed the attack, called the operation a "total victory," and urged Iranian authorities to come to the negotiating table.
It was also reported that Israeli forces eliminated General Seyed Izadi in Qom — head of the so-called "Palestinian" IRGC corps, responsible for supporting Hamas. Israeli authorities stated the operation was the result of successful intelligence work.
