FINLAND, June 23. Finland is preparing a new, already the 29th, military aid package for Ukraine. As announced by Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen, a €143 million arms package is currently under review by the government and the president.
This is the largest aid package since the war began. For the first time, it will include systems and equipment ordered from Finnish defense manufacturers under a special program launched in spring 2025.
The program aims to provide Ukraine with critical military supplies while also supporting Finland’s domestic defense industry.
According to Minister Häkkänen, interest from companies was unexpectedly high, and the products have proven reliable under harsh conditions.
The total value of Finland’s military assistance to Ukraine has now reached €2.8 billion. Details about the contents and delivery timeline are withheld for security reasons.
In March, Ukraine and Finland signed an agreement to deepen defense cooperation. It includes joint initiatives, knowledge sharing, and the development of new technologies.
As part of this cooperation, Finland provided a €200 million aid package that included artillery shells.
Helsinki is also studying Ukraine’s combat experience to strengthen its own armed forces.
