Republican Congressman from Georgia Buddy Carter announced that he has nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. He shared this on June 24 on his page on X.

According to Carter, Trump played a decisive role in brokering the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, which helped prevent a major war in the Middle East.

In addition, Carter noted that the president "halted the spread of the deadliest weapons" from the world’s leading sponsor of terrorism.

The White House or Trump's team has not yet commented on the initiative.

Earlier it was reported that Donald Trump announced that Iran and Israel had reached a ceasefire agreement, thus ending 12 days of fighting between the sides.

It also became known that Donald Trump sharply addressed Israel, calling for an immediate halt to the bombings, stating: "Don’t drop those bombs!" and demanding that the pilots return to base.
