The British Royal Household has published its financial report for 2024–2025. The Sovereign Grant — which funds the monarch’s official duties and palace upkeep — remained at £86.3 million for the fourth consecutive year. Of that, £34.5 million was allocated to the large-scale refurbishment of Buckingham Palace.
Despite health challenges, King Charles III and the Princess of Wales gradually resumed public duties. Over the year, the royal family carried out more than 1,900 engagements, hosted 93,000 guests, and opened the palace’s East Wing to tours for the first time.
Sustainability was a key focus. New lifts and eco-friendly toilets were installed, the royal vehicle fleet was electrified, and greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 2%.
The royal train is set to be decommissioned, deemed no longer viable to maintain.
Meanwhile, The Crown Estate — which manages royal assets — reported record earnings of £1.1 billion, largely due to wind energy. These revenues will benefit the nation.
Earlier, on Prince William’s birthday, a heartwarming photo was shared showing him with his dog Orla — a moment captured by his wife Catherine in Windsor.
