Donald Trump announced on his social network that U.S. representatives held a “long and productive” meeting with the Israeli side regarding the conflict in Gaza.
According to him, Israel agreed to the key terms for a 60-day ceasefire. During this time, all sides are expected to engage in seeking a final resolution to end the war.
The peace plan will be officially delivered through mediators — Qatar and Egypt. Both countries were actively involved in the negotiations and, according to Trump, “worked hard for peace.”
The president noted that Hamas should accept the terms now: “It won’t get any better — only worse.”
This statement was made by Trump amid his efforts to present himself as a key Middle East peace broker ahead of the elections.
Earlier it was reported that the Israeli army conducted a massive operation in Gaza, killing dozens of militants, striking 140 targets by air, and destroying part of the underground infrastructure used by terrorists.
