Childcare worker in Melbourne, Australia accused of sexually abusing children at daycare
Australian police are investigating a series of sexual offences in Melbourne daycare centres. Under investigation is a former employee of the major education network G8 Education.

A high-profile scandal has erupted in the state of Victoria—police are investigating allegations of sexual abuse of children at several Melbourne daycare centres.
This was reported on the official website of the Victorian Government, which also published a list of the affected centres and information for parents.
At the centre of the investigation is a former employee of G8 Education, one of the largest early-childhood education providers in Australia.
According to an official statement by G8 Education dated 1 July 2025, the allegations concern a specific centre—Creative Garden Point Cook.
Company representatives confirmed that the man no longer works for the network and is already in custody. When he was hired, he had all the required documents, including a Working With Children Check clearance.
Despite this, alarming signs emerged only after some time.
Authorities have now set up a dedicated hotline for parents of affected children. The volume of calls is so high that operators cannot handle all requests—in view of this, parents are advised to first consult the published list of daycare centres on the government website.
Both G8 Education and the Victorian authorities emphasise that they are fully cooperating with police and other agencies as part of the investigation.
The G8 statement says: “We do not tolerate any behaviour that puts children’s safety at risk.”
