During the night of July 4, Kyiv found itself at the epicenter of one of the most powerful air assaults. According to Kyiv City Military Administration (KCMA) head Tymur Tkachenko, out of more than 550 aerial targets launched by Russia across Ukraine, almost all were aimed directly at the capital. Sirens blared nearly until morning, and the sky above the city lit up with explosions.
The Solomianskyi District suffered the most. In the Otradnyi area, residential buildings, stores, private homes, schools, and cafés were hit. Vehicles and structures were destroyed in the fire.
In that district alone, over 30 apartment buildings and 5 educational institutions were damaged. Emergency response teams are working on-site.
In the Sviatoshynskyi District, destruction was reported at no fewer than six locations. A 14-story residential building on Lesia Kurbasa Street was severely damaged, with two floors burned out.
In the Dniprovskyi District, drone debris was found near a lyceum, and in the Darnytskyi District — in an open area.
In the Shevchenkivskyi District, two new yet-to-be-occupied buildings were hit. In the Holosiivskyi District, more enemy debris was discovered. Even ambulances were damaged.
According to the latest reports, more than 20 people were injured, including a 10-year-old girl. Fourteen have been hospitalized. Emergency services continue to clear rubble and extinguish fires.
Earlier it was reported that Russia launched over 500 drones and missiles against Ukraine during the night of July 4, in one of the largest attacks since the start of the war. Kyiv and six other regions were hit, with dozens of damage sites recorded. Ukraine is urgently calling for stronger air defense systems.
