GERMANY — During the night of July 5 to 6, in the cardiology department of the Asklepios clinic in Weißenfels (Saxony-Anhalt), two nurses — 25-year-old Lea H. and her colleague — ran a 90-minute livestream on TikTok, according to BILD.

Instead of attending to 29 patients with severe cardiovascular conditions, they discussed cosmetics and joked with random viewers while heart rate monitors emitted alarm signals.

Viewers heard the beeping and demanded the patients be checked; Lea responded rudely: “Leave me alone, dude.”

The stream was noticed by a senior on-duty doctor, who informed the head of the department, Dr. Burcin Oezyaman. The management immediately removed both employees from duty, launched an internal investigation, and emphasized that no patients were harmed.

Lea’s TikTok account has been closed, and disciplinary proceedings are still ongoing.

Asklepios Weißenfels specializes in cardiological treatment and has been an academic university hospital since July 1, 2011, underscoring the importance of strict care standards and a controlled environment for heart patients.

Earlier it was reported that the U.S. has approved a new drug, Yeztugo, developed by Gilead — the first injection capable of preventing HIV infection for up to six months.

FDA approval was based on clinical data confirming the drug’s near-total effectiveness.
