ISRAEL — Before departing for Washington, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said upcoming talks at the White House would open a “new circle of peace” in the Middle East.

He emphasized that Israel will not accept a ceasefire that allows Hamas to remain in Gaza, and insists on the complete destruction of its military and administrative infrastructure.

Netanyahu called the recent 12-day war with Iran and operations over Lebanon a “significant victory” and thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for his support.

According to him, the IDF and intelligence services have rescued 205 of 255 hostages, with 20 still alive in captivity.

An Israeli delegation has already arrived in Doha for indirect talks; the prime minister ordered them to secure the release of all hostages, prevent Iran from restarting its nuclear program, and permanently remove Hamas from power.
