Second season of the series "Wednesday" in development: filming in Ireland

After the success of the first season, 'Wednesday' returns with a new season. The shooting is moving from Romania to Ireland, promising new surprises and darker shades

Recent information has emerged that the second season of the popular American series "Wednesday," a mix of comedy and horror genres, is in development.

This series, inspired by characters from the classic horror film about the Addams family, is centered around the character Wednesday Addams.

After the successful debut of the first season on Netflix in November 2022, which quickly became popular and even caused the viral spread of the Wednesday dance on social networks, the creators of the series decided to release a second season.

According to reports, the second season will be filmed in Ireland, unlike the first, which was shot in Romania.

The film was shot at six different studios, including Buftea, located near Bucharest. Flavian Dobre, who worked on these shoots, now conducts tours of this world-famous studio.

The creation of the film took over eight months and gathered a remarkable team of people, contributing to the revival of Romanian cinema and its promotion to the forefront. At the Buftea studio, participants of the project experienced a deep emotional, cinematographic, and cultural response, according to Flavian Dobre, the organizer of the studio tours.

The natural landscapes of Romania were used as decorations for the series, which became a real gift for local tourism.

The beginning of shooting for the second season is planned for April 2024, which suggests the possibility of the series premiere in the fall of 2025, with the teaser potentially being released next year.

In an interview with the publication, Steve Stark, producer of the series "Wednesday," discussed the upcoming second season, without going into details. Stark emphasized that fans can expect many unexpected moments in the new season.
