For the first time, Saudi Arabia will send its representative, model Rumi Alqahtani, to the "Miss Universe 2024" contest in Mexico
This year, 27-year-old Rumi Alqahtani, a model and holder of a bachelor's degree in dentistry, will represent Saudi Arabia for the first time at the "Miss Universe" contest, which will take place in Mexico.
This became possible despite the strict restrictions on women in the country.
Rumi speaks English, French, and Arabic and has already achieved success in various beauty contests within the country, including titles of "Miss Middle East," "Miss Arab World Worldwide 2021," and "Miss Woman."
In anticipation of the contest, she expressed gratitude for the support and the honor of being the first participant from her state at such a large-scale international competition, sharing her thoughts and a photo with the Saudi Arabian flag on Instagram.
Miss Universe 2024 Beauty Contest
The "Miss Universe 2024" contest will be the 73rd edition and will take place in Mexico. Last year's winner was Shainnis Palacios from Nicaragua.
On November 18, 2023, during the "Miss Universe 2023" contest, businessman Raúl Rocha Cantú announced in a video message that the 73rd ceremony would take place in Mexico. The last time the contest was held in Mexico was in 2007.
