John Kirby, Coordinator for Strategic Communications at the White House National Security Council, made a strong statement directed at Russian President Vladimir Putin, offering a simple solution to the situation.

Kirby emphasized that if Putin is genuinely concerned about the events happening in the Kursk region, he can immediately end the war.

This position was voiced by Kirby during an online briefing organized for journalists.

Kirby noted that Russia is at war solely because of Putin, and if the Russian leader is unhappy with the situation, he can change it by ending the war.

According to Kirby, the only ones waging war in Ukraine are the Russian troops following Putin’s orders.

Additionally, Kirby commented on the accusations by Russian authorities that the West is allegedly coordinating the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.

He described these statements as "Putin’s propaganda," stressing that such remarks reflect the Russian leadership’s stance that Russia is at war with the West.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham echoed a similar position, urging the U.S. administration to continue providing comprehensive support to Ukraine.

Graham also noted Ukraine's "bold" decision to launch an offensive in the Kursk region and expressed confidence that the Ukrainian army continues to demonstrate high combat capability even after more than two years of full-scale war.

Kirby, in turn, stressed that the West will continue to support Ukraine in its fight for freedom and independence, despite Russia's attempts to present the situation differently.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly confirmed for the first time that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are conducting an operation in the Kursk region.

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi reported this at a meeting of the High Command on August 12.

Zelensky posted a video message about this on his social media, expressing gratitude to the soldiers and commanders for their resilience and decisiveness.

The President also instructed the preparation of a humanitarian plan for the territory where the operation is being conducted.

Previously, Ukraine had not openly acknowledged its involvement in actions in the Kursk region, and information about the activities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this region appeared in a more general context.
