Kyiv, August 17 — Monobank has been subjected to a powerful DDoS attack that continues with minimal interruptions.

This was reported by the bank's co-founder, Oleg Gorokhovsky, on his Telegram channel.

The attack is targeting the "Banks" service, which clients use to accumulate funds, including for army needs.

Gorokhovsky noted that over two days, the number of requests to the service has reached nearly three billion, posing a significant challenge to the bank's IT infrastructure.

Yesterday, the attack paused for only a few hours, from 22:30 to 03:15, before resuming with renewed intensity.

Monobank continues to hold its ground, ensuring that clients can use the services without interruptions and continue supporting the Ukrainian military.

"We are fighting the attack so you can continue helping our soldiers," Gorokhovsky said, urging users to keep donating to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in response to the attackers' actions.

A DoS attack is a hacker attack aimed at overloading a system to make it unavailable to users. Its primary goal is often economic pressure on the system's owners.

A DDoS attack is a more powerful version of DoS, where multiple sources are used simultaneously to create an overload, making it especially effective and difficult to trace.

Earlier, it was reported that back in May, Russian hackers intensified cyberattacks on the mobile devices of Ukrainian military personnel, according to a report from the State Service of Special Communications.
