On August 18, 2024, the world lost one of the brightest stars of cinema – Alain Delon passed away at the age of 88.

This was reported by the French publication Le Figaro. Delon died in Paris, leaving behind a rich cultural legacy that includes dozens of legendary films.

Alain Delon was born on November 8, 1935, in France. His rise to fame began with roles in such films as "Purple Noon," "Rocco and His Brothers," "The Leopard," and "The Black Tulip." These works made him one of the most recognizable and beloved actors of his time, as well as a style icon and sex symbol for two decades.

Delon's health began to deteriorate after he suffered two strokes in 2019. In 2024, a French court declared the actor incapacitated, restricting his children's involvement in decisions regarding his health.

Repeatedly honored with awards, Alain Delon also received recognition from Ukraine when, in April of this year, President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded him the Order of Merit. Delon supported Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression, which resonated with millions of people worldwide.
