Today, August 25, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced the imposition of a state of emergency across the country for 48 hours. This decision was made in response to a massive attack by the Lebanese terrorist organization Hezbollah, which has been bombarding northern and central Israel since early morning.

The declaration of a state of emergency will allow the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to implement special instructions for the population, aimed at protecting citizens and preventing mass gatherings in potentially dangerous areas. Under this regime, authorities may close certain facilities and restrict people's movement to minimize risks to life and health.

The situation on Israel's northern border sharply escalated after Hezbollah began launching massive rocket and drone strikes on Israeli territories.

In response, the IDF conducted a series of preemptive airstrikes on southern Lebanon, targeting launch sites and platforms used for the attacks. According to IDF command, around 100 combat aircraft participated in the operation, destroying thousands of Hezbollah's rocket launchers.

However, despite the successful targeting of sites in Lebanon, Hezbollah continued its bombardments, launching more than 320 rockets and dozens of drones towards Israel within two hours.

Preliminary reports indicate that one person was injured, and significant material damage was inflicted as a result of the attacks.

The situation also affected the operation of Israel's main international airport, Ben Gurion.

Temporary disruptions at the airport led to flight delays, and several international airlines, including Air France and Etihad, announced the suspension of flights to Israel.

At present, the airport has fully resumed operations, but some flights are still delayed.

In light of these events, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security cabinet meeting to discuss further steps to protect the country. Netanyahu emphasized the necessity for all citizens to strictly follow the Home Front Command's instructions. He assured that Israel will continue to respond decisively to aggression and take all necessary measures to restore security on the northern border.

Hezbollah, in turn, announced the completion of the "first stage" of its attack, claiming that all planned targets were successfully hit.

In the evening, a speech is expected from Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, where he is likely to outline the organization's further plans.

Communities in the northern part of the country are preparing for possible power outages caused by rocket strikes on energy infrastructure. The electric company "Hevrat Hashmal" has already announced its readiness to promptly restore power supply in case of such incidents.
