Gmail introduces a new email search feature with Gemini on Android
Android users can now take advantage of the Gmail Q&A feature, which allows them to search and analyze emails in their inbox using the Gemini artificial intelligence.
On August 29, 2024, Google announced that it has begun gradually rolling out a new email search feature in Gmail on Android devices using the Gemini artificial intelligence.
Previously, this feature was only available in the web version, but now Android users can ask questions directly to Gemini within their Gmail app.
The Q&A feature allows users to find specific details in emails, display unread messages, find emails from a particular sender, or even create brief summaries on a given topic.
This feature is especially useful for those looking to boost their productivity and effectively manage their inbox on the go. Now, users can access the information they need faster without manually searching through a multitude of emails.
To activate the feature, users need to enable smart features and personalization in their Gmail settings.
In the future, Gemini will also be able to search for information in Google Drive.
The feature will be available to Google Workspace users and Google One AI Premium subscribers. Full rollout of the feature will take up to 15 days.
It was previously reported that Google plans to add a web monetization feature to Chrome, which will allow users to make micropayments for access to content on websites, paying for each page individually.
