On the morning of Wednesday, August 4, a shooting took place at a school in southern Stockholm, injuring a teenager, according to SVT.

The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m., before all students had arrived at the school.

According to a police spokesperson, law enforcement officers quickly arrived on the scene. The injured teenager was conscious and able to speak when taken to the hospital.

The police promptly arrested the suspect, and it has been confirmed that no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the school was not the site of any active threats, and there is no danger to other students or staff. A preliminary investigation into attempted murder is underway.

Authorities are currently investigating possible connections between the suspect and the victim. The situation is fully under control, and there is no threat to public safety.

It is worth noting that in 2015, an attack on a school in Sweden became the largest violent incident at an educational institution in the country.

On October 22, 2015, 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson attacked the “Kronan” school in Trollhättan with a bladed weapon.

He entered the building and attacked students and teachers, killing three and injuring two. The attacker was fatally shot by police and later died in the hospital.

The investigation, which concluded in March 2016, revealed that the attack was motivated by racial hatred. This event became the deadliest school attack in Sweden’s history and raised concerns about the country’s immigration policies.
