Pedro Almodóvar wins the Golden Lion, Nicole Kidman named best actress

The 81st Venice Film Festival has concluded, with the top award going to Pedro Almodóvar. Nicole Kidman and Vincent Lindon were awarded for their outstanding performances.

At the 81st Venice Film Festival, Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar won the Golden Lion for his film "The Room Next Door".

The jury, chaired by Isabelle Huppert and including James Gray, Andrew Haigh, and Agnieszka Holland, selected his work from among 21 competing films.

The Silver Lion for Best Film was awarded to "The Mountain Bride" by director Maura Delpero.

Brady Corbet received the Best Director award for his film "The Brutalist".

Nicole Kidman won the Volpi Cup for Best Actress for her role in "Babygirl" directed by Halina Reijn.

Vincent Lindon received the equivalent award for Best Actor for his role in "Playing with Fire" directed by Delphine and Muriel Coulin.

Additionally, the award for Best Screenplay went to Murilo Hauser and Heitor Lorega for the film "I Am Still Here".

The jury also presented a Special Jury Prize to the film "April", directed by Dea Kulumbegashvili (France, Italy, Georgia).

The Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor or Actress was awarded to Paul Kircher for his role in "Their Children After Them" directed by Ludovic and Zoran Boukherma (France).
