White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at a briefing on September 13, 2024, commented on Russia's statements about NATO and the United States.

She noted that Moscow's dangerous rhetoric is not new but is part of ongoing Russian propaganda since the start of the war in Ukraine.

Jean-Pierre emphasized that the war in Ukraine is the result of Russia's aggression and stressed that it could end at any moment.

"The war can end today. Russia can withdraw its troops from Ukraine, and that will put an end to the conflict," she stated.

When asked about possible U.S. support in the form of providing Ukraine with long-range missiles to strike Russian territory, Jean-Pierre declined to disclose details.

She stated that no major announcements are expected on this matter and that U.S. policy towards Ukraine remains unchanged.

Jean-Pierre also responded to criticism directed at the administration over the slow provision of aid to Ukraine.

She emphasized that President Joe Biden has strengthened the U.S. position on the world stage and restored the country's reputation after the previous leadership.

"People thought that NATO would become weaker, but the President made it stronger. Thanks to his leadership, two new countries have joined NATO," she noted.

According to her, supporting Ukraine is a priority for the administration because it's not only a matter of democracy and freedom but also U.S. national security. "The President will continue to do everything necessary to protect the interests of the American people," Jean-Pierre concluded.

In turn, U.S. President Joe Biden stated that he doesn't give much thought to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who threatened NATO with war if Ukraine is allowed to strike Russia.

When asked to comment on the Kremlin's statements, Biden replied: "I don't think much about Vladimir Putin."

Furthermore, three countries expressed support for Ukraine to be able to strike Russian territory without restrictions using long-range weapons.

Biden added that if Ukraine begins to use Western weapons to attack Russia, it will in no way lead to an escalation of the conflict.
