Russia launched 13 airstrikes on Zaporizhzhia: 14 people injured, homes destroyed
Today, the Russian army shelled Zaporizhzhia. As a result of the strikes, residential buildings were destroyed, and 14 people were injured. Rescue operations and damage elimination are ongoing.
On September 29, between 5:30 AM and 7:00 AM, the Russian army launched 13 airstrikes on the territory of Zaporizhzhia and its surroundings.
According to preliminary data, FAB-500 bombs with UMPK (Guidance and Control Module) were used.
As a result of the attacks, a multi-story and a private house were partially destroyed. Shockwaves and debris damaged warehouses, infrastructure facilities, garages, cars, and nearby residential buildings.
As of 12:20 PM, the number of injured has increased to 14 people. Among them are four men, nine women, and a 17-year-old boy. Medical staff is providing necessary assistance to the wounded.
At the sites of the strikes, police officers continue to work, accepting reports of damaged property. Authorities urge those affected to contact the nearest police station or call 102 for help. Law enforcement officers have opened criminal cases under the article on violations of the laws and customs of war.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the enemy shelling on his Telegram channel and confirmed that 14 people were injured as a result of the Russian airstrikes on residential areas of Zaporizhzhia. Two people were rescued from the rubble. The dismantling of the destruction continues.
In addition to Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces launched strikes on the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Sumy regions, damaging residential buildings, energy, and medical infrastructure.
Zaporizhzhia City Council Secretary Regina Kharchenko reported that efforts to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack are ongoing.
83 units of special equipment and 222 personnel are involved in the operations.
Through the city's contact center, 76 reports of damaged homes have been received.
Municipal services are closing windows, dismantling hazardous structures, and removing construction debris. The water utility is fixing damaged pipelines.
