The Russian Ministry of Defense has announced preparations for a possible new war
Russia is preparing for a potential conflict with NATO within the next 10 years, said Defense Minister Andrei Belousov, citing decisions from the alliance's summit and doctrines.
On December 16, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov announced a high probability of military conflict with NATO in Europe within the next decade, according to Russian media reports.
According to him, Russia is preparing for any scenario, including armed confrontation. Belousov emphasized that NATO's decisions at its July summit, as well as doctrinal documents from the U.S. and its allies, indicate the alliance’s intention to increase pressure.
The Russian Ministry of Defense is increasing troop readiness for a possible escalation in the European region.
Additionally, the Strategic Missile Forces (RVSN) will be rearmed with "Yars" missile systems.
To strengthen air forces, four Tu-160M strategic missile carriers will enter service. It is also planned to include the nuclear missile submarine "Prince Pozharsky" in the Navy.
Moreover, the Ministry of Defense will continue to develop weapons for contactless warfare, including robotic systems and jamming-resistant AI-based control systems.
Earlier, it was reported that Russia began reducing its military presence in Syria, relocating troops and equipment to airfields, including Sokrema and Makhachkala, in response to external pressure.
It was also revealed that a Russian ship fired signal munitions at a German helicopter, prompting NATO to strengthen the protection of critical infrastructure in the Baltic region amid rising tensions.
